Hindi Poem: Batiyaan- The Talking of Past

Hindi Poem: “Batiyaan- The Talking of Past”

“Be it friends, be it family, be it the one we loved or be it whomsoever with whom we spent days and nights talking and defining ourselves but now we hardly even hear their name in our life.
For all those loved relations and emotions of ours which time took away from us and they no longer exist, here is the poem defining them.”

Hum ab pehle jaise batiyaate nahin hai,

Samajte to hai sab kuch, ek dusre ko samjate nahin hai.

Lab khulne se pehle, kap kapa rahe hai,

Shabd nikalne se pehle, soche ja rahe hai,

Rooh ne Aahaton ko pehchan na ab band kar diya hai,

Bin kuch kahe hi samaj jana, ab band kar diya hai

Chehron ki shikan bahot kuch kehna to chahti hai,

Par hum un-awaazon ko ab sun na chahte nahin hai,

Hum ab pehle jese batiyate nahin hai.

Ek dusre ko humne, ab ek khyaal banake rakha hai

Yaadon ka apne dilon mein, ek mahal saja ke rakha hai.

Vo mehal, jo humari nadaniyon, bachkani shararaton se bhara hai,

Vo, jo humari, umeedon, aashaon aur jasbaton se bhara hai,

Band kamre vo kal ke hume aaj bhi apni ore bulate hai,

Par yaadon ke un kamron mein, ab hum jana chahte nahin hai

Hum ab pehle jese batiyate nahin hai.

Rahon pe, raaste kabhi fir takrayenge,

Kal hoga jab samne, dekh use aankhon mein aansu bhi aayenge,

Tab, sab gile shikve bhulakar hum us pal ko apnayenge,

Muskaayenge do pal sangh unke,

Fir khushi se apne kafile mein vapas sharik ho jayenge

Par ye soch, in khayaalon pe, ab hum itraate nahin hai,

Umeedon ke in raston pe ab hum jaate nahin hai,

Hum ab pehle jese batiyate nahin hai.
